Clear space & size

Keep a margin around the logo at least as big as one pane of glazing is tall (the orange bars on the roof). We call that unit X. Nothing else (text, edges, other logos) goes inside it.

Misuse

The logo only works as drawn. Use the supplied files and leave them as they are.

Don't stretch or squash it.
Don't rotate it.
Don't recolour it outside the palette.
Don't add shadows, glows or outlines.
Don't place it on busy images without a solid panel.

Don't retype the name next to the mark.

Colour

Three colours do almost everything: Ink, Paper and Signal. Signal is the light in the windows. Use it sparingly, for the one thing that should be noticed.

Typography

Unbounded is the voice: wide, heavy, a little mechanical. It sets the logo and every headline. Inter does the reading: body copy, captions, interface text. Both are free (SIL Open Font License) and available from Google Fonts.

Release date to be announced

  • Headlines are sentence case. Capitals belong to the logo only.
  • Never set body text in Unbounded; it's too wide to read for long.
  • Keep lines of body text under about 75 characters.

Motifs

Two pieces of the logo can be used on their own, as long as the logo itself is also present nearby.

The roofline

A repeating row of teeth and lit glazing. Use it as a border on posters, booth graphics and trailer frames. Always horizontal, never as a full-bleed fill.

The cursor

A Signal underscore after a short line of text, as if it's still being typed. For teasers and announcements, once per screen at most.

Intro animation

The publisher card shown when one of our games starts, after any engine or platform logos and before the developer's own. The animation at the top of this page is the reference.

  1. 0.0–0.4 s Ink, nothing else.
  2. 0.4–0.9 s The factory fades in, windows dark.
  3. 1.0, 1.25, 1.5 s The three windows light up, left to right.
  4. 1.6–1.9 s The cursor blinks once, then stays on.
  5. 1.9–2.4 s The name fades in.
  6. 2.4–3.0 s Hold, then cut or fade to the next card.
  • Always on Ink, centred, with the logo about 60% of the screen height.
  • Make it skippable with any button after the first launch.
  • No music under it. A short sound cue is fine if it matches the game's audio.

  • The developer always comes first: their logo sits before or above ours, and is never smaller.
  • On key art and trailer end cards, place the badge in a bottom corner, at least 160 px wide at 1080p.
  • On store capsules, follow the store's own artwork rules first. Most capsules should carry the game's logo only.
  • Over artwork, put the badge on a solid Ink or Paper panel with X clear space.
